FETAC RPL for Existing People Handling Instructors: February 2013

Any people-handling instructor, who currently provides training, must now achieve a FETAC Level 6 Special Purpose Certificate in People Handling Instruction.

This certificate incorporates the two components ‘manual handling instruction’ and ‘people handling instruction’. Level 6 certification can be achieved through the FETAC ‘Recognition of Prior Learning Process’ (RPL).

The OPS RPL Process consists of a two-day people handling update course and a one day skills assessment process. The update course aims to update existing people handling instructors on current information and guidance on people handling techniques, and on new developments in this area, and will complement instructors existing knowledge and skills in preparation for the RPL skills assessment.

Potential candidates should

  • Have completed an 8 day people handling instructor’s course.

Course Dates
February 25 and 26 2013, with the RPL skills assessment on March 25 2013.
