Safe patient/client handling in the health and social care sectors presents many challenges for employers and for employees.
Employees in the health and social care sectors must handle patients/clients who have diverse care and rehabilitation needs. Employees may be exposed to a risk of injury, particularly back injury, from these complex handling tasks.
OPS consultants have many years’ experience of assisting health and social care organisations to develop and implement relevant risk assessment and training programmes, which consider the care of the patient/client and the health and safety of employees. Our clinical background as Chartered Physiotherapists and our experience in this area makes us ideally suited to advise on complex handling risk assessments and appropriate handling plans.
